Some Much Needed Holiday Cheer

Only 3 more Days until Christmas!

There is nothing like the joy and happiness of Christmas. It is my favorite time of year. The smells, the food, the Shopping, the giving and of course the family! And boy am I in need of a little joy and a spirit lifter! These boys just bring so much happiness to my heart! Thank goodness for them!

We had our first taste of Christmas already! On Saturday night we went to a Christmas Party, followed by a slumber party at the Mimi & Papa Johnson's'. Our Christmas with Jess' family was celebrated on Sunday morning, and it was lovely! After that we headed to Nevada City to the Victorian Christmas! We had a Wonderful Time...EVEN THOUGH IT DUMPED RAIN ON US!

After turning down many invites to Christmas Parties we decided we had better, just get out there and have a little fun! Anyone who knows Jess and I knows that we couldn't possibly EVER turn down any social event! But this Holiday season has just been so rough...

It looks like it did us a little good! Look at how much fun we were having :)

Here we have a peek of Drew peeking into Uncle Will's gift to Drew. (notice the fantastic wrapping job) haha. That just goes to show that looks can be deceiving...Drew clearly announced that that was his favorite gift :)

Little Wess and his daddy Matt.

Daddy & Trent opening Elmo...which Trent was fascinated with! His eyes get as big as Silver Dollars...just like Elmo's!

Santa & the Little Darlings

Aren't they darling! Just as happy as they can be sitting with Santa! I was really surprised that Trent didn't get a little spooked! They both did great! Drew made sure to tell Santa where he'd be & ALL ABOUT THAT DARN PIRATE SHIP he has been wanting! Oh, and we can't forget the football helmet, and sward! We shall see if he's been Naughty or Nice :) And Trent, don't you just want to pinch his little cheeks! He did manage to grab a good hold of Santa's beard...poor ol guy. Oh how I love them...they are perfection!

Christmas in Texas

We are so thankful that we are going to be able to spend our Christmas with my entire Family this year! We fly out early Christmas Eve, so come next Thursday night we will be waiting for Santa to arrive in Hereford TX. Drew is worried about the change of plans, he is afraid Santa won't know he will not be home! SO we are going to see Santa for a second time tomorrow night, so that he can tell him about the change of plans, and to deliver his presents to his Great grandma & Great grandads house!
Ohhh to be three years old, and have that be the only issue in the world to worry about!
We can't wait...only 8 more days!

ONE MONTH

ONE MONTH Dec 6th

It has been one month already! The hardest most horrible month of my life!! People say with time this pain will ease up a bit...but it hasn't!! Especially watching Logan and Brayden...That's when it hurts the most, knowing they won't KNOW their daddy!
I was told that it was going to be hardest when everyone goes home and goes back to their "normal" while I'm left here trying to figure out what my new "normal" will be with out Jake. AND BOY IS THAT TRUE!! After the family left last year...I felt safe and secure knowing I had him here! I don't want to learn how to live without him.

In church each Sunday I feel like every service is directed directly to our family! We are a very blessed family, who has a TREMENDOUS amount of wonderful people constantly here for us and continuously praying that we will find comfort! For that I am thankful! I am also thankful for the almost 28 years of memories I do have and will make it my main priority to share as much as I possibly can with his precious baby's..who I love so dearly!

I now know how precious life is and that God has a plan for each and every one of us...so I'm going to LOVE on my wonderful FAMILY, and treasure each day I have with them! I know that every person at Jake's funeral...nearly 700 people, left that church with a plan to be a better person, to be the type of giving caring, and kind hearted man that Jake was. I hope that when I am gone I have at least half of the great things thought of me as my big brother did!! HE WAS A MAGNIFICENT MAN!! I LOVE HIM!

Trick - or -Treat

This year sure was unusual for the Johnson & the Lomas bunch! We of course headed to Wheatland to my brother & sister-in-law's home (Jake & Shannon) for our yearly Halloween pot-luck dinner & tick-or-treating!! But we WERE MISSING MORE THAN A FEW FAMILY MEMBERS!! First off my dear husband came home with the strangest issue. When he arrived home...he had a strange gaze in his eyes and a painful look about him! They had WORKED TREMENDOUSLY hard all day to finish a job...needless to say that day he had HEAT STROKE (at least that's what we thonk he had) He headed straight for the couch...which is where he stayed for the remainder of the night, shivering, DiZy, and full of pain!! We had to celebrate Halloween without Jess! Thankfully his mother was at the house with the boys & I when he came home! So here is our evening Minus Jess, Rhonda (Shannon's mom) and My Mom!

Here is my little guy passed out. Ahhh, TUCKERED OUT FROM A FUN NIGHT OF TRICK-OR-TREATING, you say!! NOPE this was his state at arrival!!

A little better... a little more Awake!

BUT, BROTHER TRENT SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE NIGHT!

Group Shot

Little Superman slept the entire night away!

The cutest little man of the evening! Baby Brayden looking soo cute as a little Bear

Happy Halloween!!

This Morning we woke up and carved a pumpkin! Drew said it was a nasty job! He also wondered what that smell was...so needless to say I carved a pumpkin!! It's pretty sad looking...I hadn't carved a pumpkin in ohhhh, something like 13 years or so!!

We can't wait to go Tick-Or-Treating tonight @ Jake & Shannon's! Drew should do great, he had lots of practice last night at the Church Harvest Festival! We had a great time....but ate WAY to much Junk!!

Feeling A little Crafty

Today I decided to get a bit creative! I have been looking for a new headboard since January when we moved in! All being around $1,000 & FAR OUT of my budget, I decided to do it on my own! A few days ago I found a huge mirror in a frame at an antique shop for $129.00. It has been on my mind ever since seeing it! I tried to call the shop the other day and ask the man if he'd take 50 for it....a huge mark down...but I figured what did I have to loose! He never answered the phone:(

Because of this nasty wet weather with yesterdays storm, Jess has been able to stay home! I decided to head to that shop and do some haggling. Drew & I walked in & I asked how much he wanted that mirror for. He asked how much I'd give for it & I SAID FIRMLY $20 (hoping we could do $50, when it was all said and done) SURPRISINGLY HE SAID IT'S YOURS DARLIN!! AWESOME!!!! I made a few more stops for all the goods...AND HERE SHE IS!!

Isn't She a Beauty?!?

Just had to

In todays news there was a story regarding health care. It was a story of a Colorado family who was denied health insurance for their 4 month old son. The baby boy was 17 lbs....the insurance company considered that OBESE. With Obesity being a pre-existing condition the baby was denied health insurance! WELL THANK GOODNESS we aren't trying to enroll in new health insurance, because at the Dr. yesterday Trent weighed 18 lbs!! SUPER OBESE I guess :) I had to show off his chunky booty here. I love every single ounce of him! I have never seen such beautiful rolls!
By the way we had to take the baby to the Dr. because he was looking pretty pitiful:( Night before last was a long one.. he was just plain uncomfortable. I knew his throat had to be hurting because every time he tried to drink he let out a horrible cry! I heard that was one of the first signs of H1N1. Sure enough we caught it at the early stage of the flu...we did have to go to the hospital to have the H1N1 test (which was AWFUL to do on a infant). We get the results back in a couple of days!

3 in the A.M.

Last nigh at 3:00 I woke up to the baby monitor. Trent was crying in his crib. As I walked down the hall, I noticed Drew's bedroom light was on?!? This is what I found! He had got out of bed and into his sleeping bag!! Too cute!

I'm In

One of my favorite shops here in town! My Trew Luv Hats and bows are now carried in Twigs! I buy ALL of my baby shower gifts...cards...girlfriends birthday gifts etc. here! I'm so excited, and couldn't think of a finer shop to carry my goodies!

Also our family photographer who is truly AWESOME, used some of my stuff in her last photo shoot of this sweet little 1 year old girl. Yuba City Photographer { Claire & her parents! } » Jessica Cole Photo Blog. check it out here!

Hopefully more shops are soon to come! They are in the works. I should be making more bows right this very minute! This coming Sunday is a fundraiser for Brest Cancer, and I am donating a BOAT LOAD of PINK BOWS to the event! ALL ON TOP OF CABI! I am beat. I had 3 shows last week...only one this week, thank goodness! Things are great....being busy is good!
